VinylPlus Healthcare brings together the European medical PVC value chain to advance innovation, circularity and the responsible use of PVC in healthcare.
It builds on the activities of the former PVCMed Alliance and VinylPlus’ healthcare recycling initiatives. Medical device recycling pilots are carried out under VinylPlus Healthcare, while VinylPlus® PharmPack advances recycling solutions for pharmaceutical blister packaging.
VinylPlus Healthcare is part of the VinylPlus® framework and supports collaboration, scientific research, stakeholder engagement and practical circular solutions across the healthcare value chain.
Our Structure
VinylPlus Healthcare is the main platform for technical expertise, communications, scientific research and stakeholder engagement in the healthcare sector. It provides a single umbrella for VinylPlus’ healthcare-related activities.
Within this structure:
- Medical device recycling is delivered as a core activity under VinylPlus Healthcare (building on the experience of VinylPlus® Med).
- VinylPlus® PharmPack continues as the dedicated programme for pharmaceutical blister packaging recycling.

- Conference Participation and Industry Engagement: Presenting at leading healthcare and sustainability conferences, participating in key trade fairs, and contributing to industry forums to promote vinyl’s role in healthcare.
- Stakeholder Meetings and Non-Industry Engagement: Engaging with hospital managers, procurers, nurses, doctors, sustainability professionals, hospital authorities, trade unions, and other stakeholders to discuss the benefits and challenges of vinyl in medical applications.
- Policy and Advocacy Efforts: Developing position papers, submitting comment letters, and engaging with policymakers to ensure informed decision-making on vinyl’s essential role in healthcare.
