On 21 August, VinylPlus Healthcare was invited to present at a webinar organised by VINILA – the newly established Latin American PVC Forum. The event brought together stakeholders from across the region to exchange experiences on PVC recycling and circular economy initiatives.
In our presentation, VinylPlus Healthcare shared the European perspective on medical vinyl recycling, with a particular focus on hospital PVC waste management and the lessons learned from the VinylPlus® Med programme. We highlighted how dedicated collection and recycling schemes in hospitals can save energy, reduce CO₂ emissions, and recover valuable raw materials – demonstrating the unique recyclability of PVC medical devices.
The exchange reflects VINILA’s commitment to promoting the use of PVC in Latin America, while strengthening cooperation with international partners. For VinylPlus Healthcare, it was an opportunity to showcase the progress made in Europe and to inspire new approaches in other regions.
By fostering such global dialogue, both VINILA and VinylPlus Healthcare contribute to advancing PVC’s role in a circular healthcare economy.
